MNREDA (Meghalaya New and Renewable Energy Development Agency) has issued a tender for the design, supply, installation, and maintenance of grid-connected solar and solar plus battery storage projects. The said project is under the Meghalaya Community Intervention Project.

The scope of the project extends to the installation of solar LED lighting, grid improvement, and buildings.

The last date for the online submissions of bids online is June 7, 2023. Bids will open on June 8, 2023.

Asian Development Bank (ADB) will be responsible for funding the project and has given a $2 million grant, linked to a loan of $132.9 million to assist the Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation (MePDCL).

To qualify, the bidder must have a successful track record of completing similar projects values at over Rs 50 crore.

The project looks to provide clean and renewable energy accessible to the rural communities of Meghalaya.

Back in 2020, the Asian Development Bank had approved a USD 132.8 million loan to improve power quality and upgrade the power distribution network in India’s northeastern state of Meghalaya.
