MNRE scaling up budget for Grid connect rooftop and small solar power plant from Rs. 600 cr to Rs.5000 Cr By Saur News Bureau/ Updated On Sat, Oct 29th, 2016 MNRE is scaling up of budget for Grid Connected Rooftop and Small Solar Power Plants Programme from Rs. 600 crore during the 12th Five Year Plan to Rs.5000 crore for implementation over a period of five years upto 2019-20 under National Solar Mission (NSM) – 2nd amendment. All the organizations / institutions including those registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 and the Indian Trust Act 1882 will be eligible for subsidy under the Grid Connected Rooftop and Small Solar Power Plants Programme. As per the amendment, recently approved by President of India the private commercial and industrial sector for which no subsidy is available includes- Companies registered under the Company Act 1956 / 2013 other then registered under Section 25/8 Company / firms registered with central/state government authority (SIDC, DIC) Company registered under Limited Liability Partnership (LLPs) act 2008 Partnership firm registered under Partnership Act 1932 Shops and establishment Act Multi state cooperative society Act SSI (Small Scale Industries) Proprietorship Firms Sector-wise eligibility of Central Financial Assistance (CFA) and Achievement-linked Incentives/Awards SL. No. Category Coverage of buildings Central Financial Assistance/ Achievement  linked Incentives & awards (i) Residential All types of residential buildings CFA upto 30% of benchmark cost for  General  Category States/UTs and  upto 70%  of  benchmark cost for  Special  Category  States  i.e. North   Eastern   States  including Sikkim,  Uttarakhand,  Himachal Pradesh, Jammu  &  Kashmir and Lakshadweep,     Andaman       & Nicobar Island (ii) Institutional School     health     institutions   including medical  colleges & hospitals, universities, educational   institutions   etc.[including those   registered   under   the    Societies Registration Act 1860 and the Indian Trust Act 1882.
