The Government has set a target of 40,000 MWp of Grid-Interactive Rooftop Solar PV Plants by 2022. These rooftop solar PV plants will be set up in residential, commercial, industrial, institutional sectors in the country ranging from 1 kWp to 500 kWp capacity. Such rooftop plants have become economically viable as they produce clean electricity from the solar energy at about Rs. 7.0 per kWh even without any subsidy.

Last year in September the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) issued guideline for channel partners/ new entrepreneurs for the implementation of grid connected rooftop and small solar power plant programme in the country. Now the ministry is inviting comments/ suggestions for the modification of the guideline so that same may be incorporated in the guideline.

Suggestions / comments can be sent to [email protected] or [email protected] last by 17th October 2016.
