Global Development and Export Footprint

The e VITARA SUV has been developed under parent Suzuki Motor Corporation’s global design and manufacturing collaboration with Toyota Motor Corporation. Production in India began in August last year.

In 2025, the company exported 13,000 units of the model to 28 countries, underscoring its global manufacturing integration and export capability.

EV Market Context: India

Battery rental models are not new to the Indian market. JSW MG Motor India, the Indian venture of SAIC Motor, introduced a similar scheme in September 2023.

Electric vehicle adoption in India has accelerated following multiple launches from Tata Motors, Hyundai Motor India, Mahindra & Mahindra and Tesla over the past year.

EVs accounted for approximately 5 percent of India’s total car sales in 2025, nearly doubling from the previous year. The government has set a target for electric vehicles to represent 30 percent of all passenger vehicle sales by 2030, signalling continued policy and industry push toward electrification.
