Mahindra Logistics Unveils Net-Zero Warehouse in Telangana District

An integrated third-party logistics (3PL) service provider, Mahindra Logistics Ltd. (MLL) has built a new net-zero facility using a sustainable storage design that includes multi-client capabilities, renewable energy, resource conservation, and green cover. The 3.7 lakh square foot modern net-zero multi-client warehouse is located in the Aruna Industrial Park in the Banda Mailaram hamlet of Mulug Mandal in Siddipet.

This warehouse will play a significant role in MLL’s pan-Indian network of solar-powered multi-user facilities that assist customers in arriving at manufacturing and fulfillment operations. The building will serve e-commerce clients. The built-to-suit (BTS) facility was created by MLL’s sustainability criteria, which include the use of recycled building materials, liquid discharge management, requirements for renewable energy and waste management, and cutting-edge automation.

The new building not only runs entirely on solar energy and battery storage, becoming energy positive, but it also feeds any extra energy produced back into the grid. Making it fully net-zero, the energy produced will also be able to charge electric cargo vehicles and personal mobility devices.

With another 475kwp under construction, the addition of this plant will bring the total installed solar power generation capacity to 525kwp, assisting us in our goal of 1Mwp by FY23. Over 350 MLL personnel and third-party associates are employed across this plant, and during the peak, that number more than triples.

The CEO and MD of Mahindra Logistics, Rampraveen Swaminathan, stated that “This new facility expands our commitment to offering customers a pan-India network of world-class warehousing infrastructure. We anticipate continuing company growth from both present and future clients from everywhere. In terms of sustainability, these new facilities set a standard.”

Recently, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (M&M) also announced that it will invest Rs 10,000 crore to build an electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra. The industrial development scheme for electric vehicles of the Maharashtra government has approved the company’s investment, according to the company.
