L&T Bags Orders worth Rs 5,000 – Rs 7,000 Cr for Power Transmission, Solar Biz Network Planning Group under PM Gati Shakti Gives Nod to Infra Project on Renewable Energy

Multinational conglomerate Larsen & Tourbo’s Construction arm, L&T Construction, said that it has won major contracts worth Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000 crore for its businesses including power transmission & distribution (PT&D) and solar in India as well as overseas.

Transmission

The company has got a prestigious order in Kuwait to upgrade substations and related power facilities in KNPC’s Mina Al Ahmadi oil refinery.

Thus, the revamped network of distribution substations with the latest technology is expected to enhance the reliability of power supply and facilitate expansion.

Besides, the PT&D business has won 400 kV grid station order in Oman which will be a crucial element in the Sultanate’s major transmission initiative to interconnect the grids in the south and north with the PDO Area.

The company has secured another contract in Egypt to design, supply, construct & commission 220 kV gas-insulated substation from a reputed client.

Whereas, the renewable energy arm of the business has won large EPC orders on the domestic as well as international fronts to establish solar photovoltaic (PV) plants of aggregate over 500 MW capacity.

Moreover, these grids connected to power plants also entail related power evacuation and interconnection systems, the company said.

Additionally, an order has been won by the company to strengthen the urban HT distribution network in Chennai with the addition of ring main units and feeder remote terminal units on a total turnkey basis. Also, the company will establish fully automated, unmanned 33 kV gas-insulated substations at the selected locations.

Furthermore, it has secured another order to supply and install medium voltage capacitor banks with related accessories under different Discoms in the state of Uttar Pradesh (UP).

Meanwhile, the company has been receiving orders in the ongoing substation, transmission line and renewable projects.
