India Transmission Line

The construction arm of Larsen & Toubro, L&T Construction, has secured a number of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) orders worth Rs 2,500 crore to Rs 5,000 crore for its power transmission & distribution (PT&D) business in India and abroad.

The company has bagged orders for laying underground cabling in certain industrial areas and towns in order to improve the reliability of power supply.

Moreover, some other orders have also been won by the company for solar powered irrigation systems.

Additionally, the company has also received some orders for substations and transmission lines from certain countries of the Middle East and the ASEAN region.

Recently, an order has been secured by the company in Jharkhand state also for the designing and construction of a 220kV gas insulated substation and its associated transmission lines and cables. This substation and connected transmission systems are aimed to ensure uninterrupted power supply for the Ranchi Smart City.

Besides, in India, it has won an order for construction, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of a 132/11kV Substation and associated works in the United Arab Emirates.

During the second week of March this year, the company has secured many EPC orders worth Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 2,500 crore for its power transmission & distribution (PT&D) business in India and abroad.

It has bagged orders for design and construction of two 400kV substations and associated transmission lines in Andhra Pradesh (AP). These substations and connected transmission systems form part of the 400kV ring network being implemented to ensure uninterrupted power supply for the state’s new capital city, Amaravathi.

The company has secured another project for Bangalore Metro Phase-II, to execute the Receiving Substations and the Extra High Voltage cables from Grid Stations.

Another order has been bagged by L&T to execute the power supply system and SCADA works for Mumbai Metro Line 7.

Additionally, it has bagged another order for the design and construction of a 15MW grid-connected floating solar farm under Visakhapatnam Smart City project. It is among the biggest floating solar projects in India.

Besides, EPC orders have also been secured by the company from reputed developers for the implementation of solar power generating systems totalling 200MW in Tamil Nadu.
