Lightsource dives into the Indian solar market

UK’s largest solar energy generator Lightsource Renewable Energy has dived into the Indian solar market and reportedly spearheading massive investment in solar segment in the country.

Early this year in September the company bagged 50 MW solar project out of 450MW tendered in Maharashtra. Lightsource recently in a statement said that it is looking to develop 1000MW in next 2-3 year.

Rupesh Agarwal -Managing Director for the company’s India operations speaking to BS said “The Indian Government has set ambitious targets for solar energy, smart solutions and reducing the carbon foot print and we look forward to building a next generation utility.”
