Leading Solar Solutions Supplier Longi Reveals 66-Cell Solar Module for Europe LONGi Announces Developing 33.9% Efficiency With Perovskite

Global solar energy equipment manufacturer LONGi has announced that it has released a new half-cut cell module version of its previous HiMO5 module. The new cell is designed for the European market specifically. LONGi is also a member of the Solar Module Super League (SMSL).

LONGi reveals that it has 66 solar cells in the module which is based on M10 wafer size. The module also features a new frame design which enables the developers to install the modules both horizontally and vertically. There are also brackets that could be attached to the shorter and longer sides of the module frame that can help increase space for projects.

LONGi has published about the new cell technology and module making for the first time in its interim report. It aims at mass production and commercialisation of the new product aimed at achieving product differentiation and long-term competitiveness.

LONGi stated, “Planning becomes a lot more flexible when modules aren’t restricted to vertical installation. And the module is also compatible with standard installation systems.”

LONGi has worked on the number of cells fitted in the new module and the new design is aimed at providing mechanical stability in the installations.

The new module variety is an evolved technology from the HiMO5 module range of LONGi that the company has already sold over 30GW of capacity. These modules, according to LONGi, have been recognised as high achievers and top performers by RETC and PVEL in the industry. It was received the Intersolar Award in 2021.

LONGi’s Rising Business

LONGi has shipped more than 18-GW of monocrystalline solar modules in the first half of 2022. The shipment to the European markets have increased as the USA administration has come down with heavy restrictions on solar imports.

Recently, LONGi revealed that it has provided 100MWp of its high-efficiency Hi-MO 4 modules for a 100MWp ground-mounted solar project in South Korea executed by leading local EPC Top Solar.
