KUSUM Comp A: Insolation Arm Wins 226.45 MW Solar Project from Rajasthan DISCOMs
Insolation Energy subsidiary Insolation Green Energy was recently awarded a Letter of Intent (LOI) from two electricity distribution companies: Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) and Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (AVVNL).
In a press release, Insolation Energy explained that it would undertake the design, survey, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and operation & maintenance of 226.45 MW SPV solar power plants for 25 years from the Commercial Operation Date (COD) under RESCO mode. The order is expected to be executed in the financial year 2026–27, with the project estimated to involve an investment of approximately Rs. 750 crore (including GST).
In June this year, Insolation Green Energy received a letter of intent (LOI) to develop grid-connected solar power projects totalling 109.79 megawatts (MW) across Rajasthan. That project was tendered under the PM-KUSUM Component A scheme, for 58 sites on behalf of Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (JVVNL). The tariff for the erstwhile project ranged from ₹2.55/unit to ₹3.037/unit. The company secured the project at ₹2.55 per unit for 51 sites, ₹3.037 per unit for six sites, and ₹3.04 per unit for one site. This makes the tariff for the latest project lower than its previous project under the PM KUSUM Scheme.
About The Project
The company added, "The project includes an associated 11 KV line to connect the plants with various 33/11 KV substations and a remote monitoring system (RMS). The work will be carried out under the PM-KUSUM Component A Scheme for 20 sites of JVVNL and 115 sites of AVVNL."
The combined SPV solar power plants will total 226.45 MW under the PM-KUSUM Component A Scheme. The final levelized tariffs are:
Rs. 3.04/unit – 16 sites
Rs. 2.82/unit – 5 sites
Rs. 2.75/unit – 53 sites
Rs. 2.60/unit – 61 sites
