KPI Green Energy Joins Hands with Uttarakhand Govt for 500 MW Solar Park
Independent Power Producer KPI Green Energy Limited, in partnership with Advait Infratech Limited, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Uttarakhand. The agreement sets sights on setting up a 500 MW solar park under the Captive Power Producer (CPP) segment.
KPI Green Energy has won several orders in the recent past. Among the major orders secured are a Letter of Intent (LOI) for a 145.20 MW wind-solar hybrid power project (comprising 145.20 MW wind and 50 MW solar) by Ayana Renewable Power Four Private Limited, based in Bangalore. It also entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Limited (MAHAPREIT) a few months back. Earlier, KPI Energy also emerged as the winner of 200 MW capacity in the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) tender for development of a solar photovoltaic power project.
The firm is eyeing the target of exceeding 1000 MW by 2025.
The Uttarakhand State Solar Policy 2023 was announced a few months back. The policy places premium especially on rooftop solar, community solar, setting up solar villages, behind the meter projects (with energy storage).
