Surat-headquartered KPI Green Energy Ltd, the solar vertical of KP Group and a firm that produces renewable energy, KPI Green Energy has received commissioning certificates from Gujarat Energy Development Agency (‘GEDA’) for its 4.10 MW wind-solar hybrid power project. This entails a 2.10 MW wind and 2 MWdc solar project. The project is established at Samoj site in Jambusar, Dist. Bharuch, Gujarat, under the Gujarat Wind-Solar Hybrid Power policy 2018.

The firm is set to sell the power generated out of this wind solar hybrid power project to the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) clients.

Earlier, KPI Green Energy entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Limited (MAHAPREIT) for renewable energy projects. KPI Green Energy has several wind-solar hybrid projects located in Gujarat. Back in June, the firm received a letter of intent for developing a 40 MW hybrid green energy project that will come up in Gujarat. The capacity entails 21.50 MW wind and 18.5 MW solar, as per the firm.

KPI Energy, which has set the target of achieving 1000 MW by 2025, recently also emerged as the winner in the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) tender for development of a solar photovoltaic power project.

Earlier the company had also emerged as the winner for a 200 MW project tender, floated by the Gujrat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). This tender was for the development of 800 MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic power projects to be set up in Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd. (GSECL) Solar Park at Khavda (GSECL Stage 2), with a Greenshoe Option of additional capacity up to 800 MW.

The firm has set itself the ambitious target of achieving 1 GWp by the year 2025 and has energized a total capacity of 339 MWp, with 141 MWp under the IPP.  segment and 198 MWp under the CPP segment
