Kolkata Port Trust Gets First MW Sized Solar Plant, Vikram Solar The EPC

Vikram Solar, one of India’s leading module manufacturers and a prominent EPC solar solutions provider commissioned a 1 Megawatt (MW) solar plant for Kolkata Port Trust (KoPT), The Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port Trust. This is KoPT’s first solar plant located at the Haldia Dock Complex, KoPT. It was inaugurated by the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal. The ground mounted captive solar plant of KoPT is expected to generate 1.4 million units of green energy per year.

With proven capacity to handle utility scale projects (225 MW for NTPC in Bilhaur-Uttar Pradesh, 200 MW for APGENCO in Ananthapuramu-Andhra Pradesh, 130 MW for NTPC at Bhadla-Rajasthan, 80 MW for GIPCL at Charanka- Gujarat, 50 MW for NTPC at Mandsaur-Madhya Pradesh), besides  airport installations (Kolkata, Calicut, Dibrugarh, Kochi, Gaya, Gondia).

Vikram Solar has been a market leader with a production capacity of 2.5 GW and the company has shipped over 3.5 GW PV modules globally.
