Mumbai-based Hazoor Multi Projects has secured a Letter of Award (LoA) from Apollo Green Energy (formerly Apollo International Ltd) for executing NHPC’s 200 MW grid-connected solar project at Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited’s (GSECL) renewable energy park in Khavda, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Hazoor said it will carry out engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) activities, including design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning of the 200 MW solar project at Stage-3 of GSECL’s RE park in Khavda, Gujarat. The project is valued at ₹913 crore and is expected to be completed by March 2026, the company added.

Khavda Solar Expansion Continues

State-run NTPC Green Energy, the renewable arm of NTPC Ltd, has previously commissioned two solar projects in Gujarat’s Khavda region with a combined capacity of 288.9 MW. The company also operationalized 142.2 MW from its 300 MW Khavda Solar Energy Project. These projects were a part of the 450 MW Hybrid Tranche V being developed by NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL), a step-down subsidiary of NTPC.

Gujarat-based Kosol Energie has also previously commissioned a 12 MW (DC) solar plant for GSECL at Manjal, Gujarat. The project was built on 45 acres of unused government land and uses 545 Wp bifacial modules with 144 half-cut cells. The plant features transparent back sheets on fixed-tilt structures, with 13 acres designated for extra high voltage (EHV) and high voltage (HV) transmission lines, towers, and pipelines.

Meanwhile, NHPC is also expanding its solar capacity. Its board recently approved the development of a 1,200 MW solar park in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun district. The project, with an estimated investment of ₹796.96 crore and interest during construction (IDC) of ₹42.69 crore, will see an equity investment of ₹239.09 crore in Bundelkhand Saur Urja Ltd (BSUL)—a joint venture between NHPC and the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA).
