JSW Energy, through its wholly-owned subsidiary JSW Neo Energy Ltd., announced on Friday that it has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for 230 MW of firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE).
The agreement falls under SECI’s FDRE Tranche IV scheme, aimed at ensuring round-the-clock renewable power supply.
This addition takes JSW Energy’s under-construction power generation capacity to 12.9 GW, while its total locked-in portfolio now stands at over 30 GW.
The firm said the new power purchase agreement is a strategic step towards enhancing grid stability through dispatchable clean energy and aligns with its vision to transition to a sustainable energy portfolio.
Strengthening Renewable and Storage Synergies
JSW Energy has a long-term target of achieving 30 GW of installed power generation capacity by 2030. The company is also working on developing 540 GWh of energy storage systems in line with India’s national renewable energy goals.
Earlier this month, JSW Energy’s step-down subsidiary, JSW Renew Energy Thirty Seven Ltd., signed a Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (BESPA) with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. (RVUNL). The agreement is for the development of a 250 MW/500 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
