JSW Energy, Serentica, ReNew & Hero Solar Among Firms Winning 1.5 GW SECI Bid

Four firms won the bid that was issued by Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) regarding 1.5 GW firm and dispatchable renewable energy from Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) -connected projects. As per SECI, JSW Neo Energy, Serentica Renewables India, ReNew Solar Power and Hero Solar Energy were the winners in the auction by SECI.

The tender was issued in July 2023 to supply power to distribution companies in Punjab and Madhya Pradesh. Both land and ISTS connectivity will be under the scope of the selected renewable energy developers. Energy Storage Systems must constitute part of the project. ReNew won 80 MW out of the 200 MW while Hero Solar secured 120 MW. JSW won 180 MW and Serentica won 100 MW.

Further, SECI will act as the intermediary nodal agency for the procurement and sale of this power to the buying entities entirely on a back-to-back basis.

In other news, Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) recently extended the bid submission deadline for the manufacturing, testing, packing forwarding, supply, and transportation of 900 MWp domestically manufactured solar PV modules with domestically manufactured solar cells. SECI revised the existing date and time for bid submission from 12th March at 2 pm to 26th March.

Recently, Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has invited a tender for its proposed 300 MW (AC) ground-mounted solar PV Project at Ramagiri in Andhra Pradesh. The tender was allotted for the design, engineering, and supply of a grid-connected ground-mounted solar PV power plant. SECI project includes the performance demonstration with associated equipment and materials on a turnkey basis at Ramagiri, along with five years of comprehensive operation and maintenance from the date of commissioning or operational acceptance, whichever is later.
