JREDA Issues Tender For 12-MW Grid-Connected Solar Rooftop Project

The Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (JREDA) has now issued a tender for developing 12 Megawatt (MW) of grid-connected rooftop solar projects. These projects are said to be installed in Giridih, one of the identified solar cities of Jharkhand.

As per the details of the tender documents, the bidding process for the rooftop scheme for 12 MW would comprise three segments. Under the first part, projects in the range of 1Kw to 3 KW, with a total aggregate capacity of 5000 Kw would be taken up. The bidders can apply for a minimum aggregate capacity of 200 Kw and a maximum aggregate capacity of 1000 Kw.

In the second part, projects with an individual capacity ranging from 2Kw to 10JKw could be taken up. The total aggregate capacity in the group is 5000 Kw. The bidders in this section can apply for a minimum aggregate capacity of 400 Kw while the maximum aggregate capacity is 2000 Kw.

In the third category, the individual project size is above 10 Kw. In this section, the total aggregate capacity is 2000 KW. The bidders in this section can bid for a minimum aggregate capacity of 500 KW; the maximum aggregate capacity here is 2000 Kw.

The bidders who are interested in bidding for this project would have to ensure the identification of rooftops, design, engineering, manufacture and supply, take care of storage, civil work, erection, testing and commissioning of the grid-connected project. The tender documents say that they have to also take care of the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of the project for five years.

The projects are slated to be completed within four months, whereas the contract would be given for five years. JREDA would conduct a pre-bid meeting on July 14, whereas the last date for submitting the online bids is July 17.

Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (JREDA) has envisaged solarizing Giridih City (Municipal Area) under the MNRE Solar City program.

“It (JREDA) is inviting applications from interested solar energy system developers to install the Solar Rooftop PV system on the premise of Consumer. The main objective of the solar city programme is to reduce the dependence on conventional energy sources to meet the increasing energy demand and to maximize and accelerate the deployment of solar energy and other sustainable clean energy-based solutions,” the tender document read.
