JinkoSolar’s 182mm TOPCon Cells’ Efficiency Rate Hits New High of 26.4%

Early in December, leading solar panel manufacturer headquartered in Shanghai, China, JinkoSolar (Jinko) has revealed that it has made a substantial advancement in the creation of large-sized N-type cells. Jinko has demonstrated that it has attained a new high conversion efficiency rate for N-type TOPCon cells that are 182mm or greater in size, with China’s National Institute of Metrology serving as the authoritative third-party certifier. Jinko’s 182mm TOPCon cells have now achieved the maximum rate of 26.4% in laboratory testing.

Just a few months before this accomplishment, in October of this year, Jinko achieved a new high for the same product of 26.1%.

The business also emphasized that its R&D group was a pioneer in the creation of designs and materials such as composite metal thermal interface material, polycrystalline silicon film, and defect passivation coating. The present efficiency rate of 26.4% is the result of these methods being effectively applied to large-sized PV cells, the firm stated.

Jinko has set records for cell efficiency and module output 22 times, the firm says. Particularly, the business has been in charge of the development of N-type solutions. Jinko has seven times in the last two years beaten the record for N-type TOPCon cells.

Jinko presently has the highest manufacturing capacity for N-type TOPCon cells (20GW annually) and N-type crystal growth (20GW annually) when compared to other PV manufacturers (35GW per year). With this scale, Jinko is predicted to achieve its own product shipment goals and provide the market with a consistent flow of high-efficiency N-type modules. The commercialization of N-type products will consequently be accelerated.

The Tiger Neo line of N-type TOPCon modules from Jinko are house-made goods with a maximum power output that exceeds 600 W. Additionally, the company’s TOPCon cells have a mass production efficiency rate of more than 25%. Jinko says it has benefited significantly from relying on its core technologies and high-quality manufacturing process in terms of product performance, conversion efficiency, energy density, product dependability, production yield rate, and technology-related costs. Because it is on a clear road to significant cost savings, the corporation boasts that it will maintain its industry leadership shortly.

Jinko has achieved higher production efficiency and cheaper production costs for the advanced N-type TOPCon cells compared to other N-type cells in competition and the more traditional PERC cells because of its years of experience and know-how. Additionally, the Tiger Neo series, which has been well received by customers in China and other regional markets, is currently expanding its adoption.
