JinkoSolar Has N-type Mono Cell Verified at Record 24.9% Conversion Efficiency

Leading global solar module manufacturer JinkoSolar has announced that it has achieved a record large-area N-type monocrystalline silicon solar cell conversion efficiency of 24.9 percent independently confirmed by the Institute for Solar Energy Research in Hamelin (ISFH), Germany.

The firm stated that it has invested huge resources in R&D. Its experts in the fields of silicon wafers, cells and photovoltaic modules focus on technological innovation breakthroughs, and are committed to providing global customers with efficient and competitive industry products and leading technologies.

The record-breaking mono-crystalline silicon solar cell was fabricated on a high quality, low defect CZ mono-Si substrate. Advanced diffusion with highly activated dopant, high-quality surface passivation, JinkoSolar highly conductive passivating contact technologies and a series of innovative technologies and material upgrades were integrated into the cell process to set this new record of 24.9 percent.

As one of the world’s leading photovoltaic company, JinkoSolar continues to improve its own technological level, set world records one after another, and promote Chinese photovoltaic companies to become the top class globally. Jin Hao, CTO of JinkoSolar said, “In the future, JinkoSolar will continue to assume the role of industry change promoter, focusing on the rapid improvement of PV products with our innovative technology so as to promote the high-quality development of the photovoltaic industry.”

In December 2020, we had reported that the firms’ had total revenue of RMB 8.77 billion (USD 1.29 billion), an increase of 3.8% from RMB 8.45 billion and 17.2% from RMB7.48 billion from the second quarter of 2020 and the third quarter of 2019, respectively. The increase was mainly on the back of higher volume shipments of its solar modules. Gross profit in the third quarter of 2020 was lower than the second quarter of 2020 and the third quarter of 2019 as it was RMB1.49 billion (USD 220.2 million), RMB1.51, and RMB1.59, respectively.

Kangping Chen, JinkoSolar’s Chief Executive Officer, had said, “JinkoSolar delivered solid results for the quarter with total revenue, total solar module shipments, and gross margin all within our guidance range. Module shipments reached a new high of 5,117 MW, an increase of 14.5% sequentially and 53.8% year-over-year.
