India-based JBM Electric Vehicles on Monday launched its all-electric city bus ECOLIFE at the UITP Global Public Transport Summit 2025 in Hamburg, marking its official entry into the European market.

The company also announced the establishment of its European headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany, and a strategic leasing partnership with KazenMaier, under which over 100 electric buses will be deployed in Germany.

The ECOLIFE bus offers a range of up to 400 km on a single charge, supports ultra-fast charging, and features recyclable seats and interiors made from recycled materials, the company said. JBM EV is part of the $3 billion JBM Group, and has deployed or secured contracts for over 11,000 electric buses across multiple global markets.

JBM’s Vice Chairman Nishant Arya said the company aims to decarbonise public transport through integrated electric mobility solutions. “We envision serving over 20 billion passengers and covering 3 billion electric kilometres over the next 3–4 years,” Arya said.

KazenMaier Leasing CEO Max Nastold said the collaboration would offer turnkey solutions combining buses, charging infrastructure, and leasing services. “Together, we are enabling easier access to zero-emission public transport in Germany,” he added.

JBM EV’s operations in Europe will be led by Daniel Frade, Director of Sales, Marketing and Aftersales – Europe. The Frankfurt office will manage marketing, partnerships, aftersales, and regional operations.

The company’s JBM E-Verse ecosystem includes in-house fast-charging infrastructure, lithium-ion batteries, and energy management systems. The buses are designed to meet European Union regulations and come equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), intelligent transport systems, and a suite of safety features including collision detection, blind spot monitoring, and fire suppression systems.

JBM claims its buses have collectively saved over 350 million litres of diesel and prevented over 1 billion kg of CO₂ emissions to date. The company operates one of the world’s largest dedicated electric bus manufacturing plants outside China, with an annual production capacity of 20,000 units.

The launch aligns with JBM’s commitment to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2040 and supports several UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including climate action and sustainable urban mobility.
