The Indian Subsidiary of Malaysian oil and gas conglomerate Petronas, Amplus Solar has awarded a significant solar EPC order to Jakson Green, the new energy transition platform supported by the Infrastructure and Renewables giant Jakson Group.

Jakson Green will complete and hand over to Amplus Solar in Bikaner, Rajasthan, India, a cutting-edge solar power plant on a turnkey EPC basis within 8.5 months of the partnership’s start. Over 224,448 monocrystalline bifacial solar modules with a 540Wp rating will be used, together with almost 3,000 single-axis trackers.

The facility, which when finished would be the size of 386 football fields, is anticipated to offset more than 3.1 million tonnes of CO2 annually, or the same amount of CO2 as taking 558,100 fuel-powered cars off the road. Long-term power supply to prominent commercial and industrial customers is part of the project’s plan.

Sharad Pungalia, CEO of Amplus Solar, gave a speech at the event and stated, “We are committed to guaranteeing the timely delivery of all our projects with the best HSE principles. We are thrilled to work with Jakson Green, who is renowned for prompt delivery and top-notch safety procedures. We anticipate a fruitful long-term partnership with Jakson Green.”

Jakson Green recently announced its global ambitions to be a leading developer and integrator of green hydrogen and green ammonia assets across select geographies. The company is also considering a play in the independent hydrogen & ammonia production and electrolyser manufacturing space. The company is actively building a pipeline of green hydrogen, green ammonia, and renewable energy projects both in India and internationally.

Earlier, Jakson Green signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Rajasthan to invest about Rs 22,400 Crore in the State to set up a Green Hydrogen & Green Ammonia project in phases.
