IRCON Renewable Power (IRPL) has floated a tender for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) work with a 220 kV substation for 500 MW of grid-connected solar power projects at Pavagada in Karnataka.

The last date for submitting the online bid is September 20, 2022, and the bids will be opened on the same day.

This IRPL 500 MW solar tender includes the scope of work in design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, packing and forwarding, transportation, unloading, storage, all related and associated civil works, installation, and commissioning including warrantee obligation with 03 (Three) years of comprehensive operation and maintenance. The project will be built by the domestic content requirement (DCR) category, according to the tender document.

The awarded bidder will have to pay Rs. 11.495 crores as an Earnest Money Deposit. The successful tenderer shall be required to deposit 3% of the basic value of the purchase order as a Performance Security Deposit within 28 days of award notification.

After being awarded, the project must be finished in 17 months. A minimum of one plant, with a capacity of 20 MW or higher, shall have been designed, built, and operational by bidders as EPC contractors or as developers for grid-connected solar power projects with a cumulative installed capacity of 80 MW or higher. Before the bid opening date, the reference project with a capacity of 20 MW or more has to have been in operation for at least six months.

Alternately, bidders must have completed in the last ten years a single industrial project with a value of at least Rs. 180 crores, either as a developer or an EPC contractor, in the fields of power, steel, oil & gas, petrochemical, fertiliser, cement, coal mining, or any other process sector. 

Any three of the last five financial years ending March 31, 2022, must have shown a minimum average yearly turnover of Rs. 180 crores for bidders. Bidders’ net worth as of the final day of the prior fiscal year must be at least 100% of the paid-up share capital.
