India’s Top 5 Module Manufacturers By Highest Module Efficiencies Basis ALMM List

Highlights :

  • When compared to the list released earlier in August 2023, the number of ALMM approved manufacturers has been updated from 76 to 79. Those that have been dropped from the list this time include Photovoltaics Pvt Ltd, Patanjali Renewable Energy.
India’s Top 5 Module Manufacturers By Highest Module Efficiencies Basis ALMM List Waaree Energies, Vikram Solar in Co-Branding Agreements Under ALMM

The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy has updated the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM). The validity stands from March 10, 2023 to March 10, 2027. The ALMM list lays down the approved manufacturers whose modules can be used for government supported projects in India. Currently, there is a temporary exemption till March 31 2024 for the condition. The list does not include any foreign manufacturer till date.

As on September 1, 2023, the top five highest efficiency module makers as per the ALMM for Mono C-Si PERC Bifacial Modules are as follows-

  1. As per the list, Navitas Green boasts 21.67% of module efficiency (540 Wp). Most of its modules exceed 21% efficiency.
  2. West-Bengal based Sova Solar follows next with 21.51% efficiency for its modules (535Wp).
  3. Jakson Engineers Ltd. boasts 21.50%% efficiency (555Wp)
  4. Solex (Mono c-Si PERC Module) & Premier Energies (Bifacial Mono PERC C-Si Modules ) take the third position with 21.49% efficiency each.
  5. Bluebird Solar and Goldi Sun both have Mono Silicon modules offering efficiency of 21.31%

The Dropouts

When compared to the list released earlier in August 2023, the number of ALMM approved manufacturers has been updated from 76 to 79. Those that have been dropped from the list this time include Photovoltaics Pvt Ltd, Patanjali Renewable Energy. Both the manufacturers were mentioned on the list released in June, 2023 as well.

New Entrants

The new manufacturers that have made their way into the list today are Karnataka-based Orb Energy, Gujarat-based Australian Premium Solar. The list that was released in June 2023, did mention Australian Premium Solar. However, in August, it was scrapped only to find its way back into the newly-revised list.
