India Crossed 11 GW of Solar Installation

The statistics from last month's RE installation indicate that November was not a terrific month for the expansion of Indian RE capacity. Comparing the current month of November 2022 to the previous one, the total RE capacity additions decreased. India only added 342.09 MW of solar energy and just 51.3 MW of wind energy in November 2022. India added more than 12 GW (12619.65 MW) of solar energy & almost 2 GW (1812.58 MW) of wind energy in 11 months of 2022.

In November 2022, the solar energy capacity added was just 342.09 MW while in October 2022, it was 810.37 MW. This translates to a decline of over 81%.

In November 2022, the wind energy capacity stood at just 51.3 MW, while in October 2022, it was 177.9 MW. This shows a great decline in wind energy of over 110%. If we combine solar energy and wind energy, in October 2022 India added around 988.27 MW while in November 2022, India added just 393.39 MW. It’s a sharp decline of 86.11%.
