Green Stocks May 29- Green Stocks Seek A Month End High

With Waaree Energies spiking at 8%, and KPI Green at 5%, our green energy pack was back to business as usual (BaU) as investors played with favourites. Sterling and Wilson Renewable however missed out, despite announcing a significant deal during the day. Others to miss out on were NTPC Green, which has clearly spooked some investors with the slower-than-expected pace of capacity additions, and perhaps linked to that, the other large public sector developer, SJVN. With just a day of trading to go for the month, and that too a Friday, it will be interesting to see if stocks manage to hold the gains made today, even as results from Suzlon are expected today, The wind energy major incidentally, lost a little ground along with peer Inox Green, after the sharp run-up seen earlier this week.

The volatility in Waaree Energies will possibly worry some punters, but in its defence, it has to be said that for every bit of challenging news that comes in, the firm's sheer strength as the largest player in both modules and cells gives it a serious advantage and ability to overcome these. If anything, any tightening of demand or margins is likely to impact the tens of smaller players outside the top 10 in India, with the MNRE counting 104 in its latest ALMM list.

The group to watch now in fact will be Solar EPC firms, in terms of how far they have managed to go in adapting for BESS solutions and other RTC and FDRE tender-driven projects. In Fy26, that might just be the edge investors look for as they seek winners in this still hot sector.
