Green Stocks June 5- Stocks Exhibit Strength In Positive Market

As markets seemed to welcome a second consecutive day of growth, our green energy pack did not quite outperform as we are used to but showed enough resilience to rise or limit losses. Stocks like KPI Green and Waaree RTL, which had spiked yesterday, could not quite repeat the same today, with Waaree RTL even giving up over 2% of its gains from yesterday.

SJVN was a standout performer today after many ordinary days, and solar glass firm Borosil Renewables enjoyed a strong day as well. The action, on a day of expiry, was more muted than one would expect, even though the market did go through a wide range of movements throughout the day.

Observers will be watching closely tomorrow to see how the week ends, with a positive ending across a broad market seen as a sign that the market might possibly be ready for the next upmove. Developers and EPCs alike will benefit if the RBI cuts rates again as is widely expected this weekend, which would certainly help add some ballast to fuel stocks.
However, issues still remain, like the fate of troubled firm Gensol, and the fate of contracts in hand with the firm still in limbo. Other than that, one can sense a lot more purpose in some other critical areas, and besides Vikram Solar, a Possible IPO move from GreenKo, the Hyderabad-based green giant could also weigh on valuations. From little supply, by the year's end, the green energy domain is looking perfectly capable of having enough firms to form their own index. Now that would be an idea, isn't it. Come to think of it, it is time the country had a green index to track one would think considering the massive role these firms, listed and unlisted, are set to play in the coming months and years.
