As most global markets enjoyed a rebound for no reason other than hopes that a resolution would be worked out in a matter of weeks, if not days to the tariffs tussle, India’s markets enjoyed their moment in the sun as well. The relief rally lifted almost all stocks, and our green energy pack rose as well as you can see.

Of course, none are close to recovering the losses of the past week, as that will take more than a day’s recovery to make good. But a rebound early in the week should be good news, as the Indian market has weathered the global drop better in any case. As time goes by, the market is also better able to digest the implications of the tariff moves, and besides the fact that India has not really been hit as badly as many others, hopes seem to be pinned on an early breakthrough in India’s bilateral talks with the US.

Besides that, the urgency the events have provided to trade discussions with multiple other partners also seems to have added a little more positivity, as the market hopes that the urgency is mutual now. For the record, India is involved with bilateral trade agreement discussions with multiple countries, including the EU, US, UK, and many others. With many Chinese manufacturers staring at a serious supply glut unless they cut back on production, there is a decent chance that manufacturing machinery or whole assembly lines from that country could be available for cheap Indian manufacturers. It’s an opportunity well worth checking and green energy manufacturers are familiar with the playbook, considering how many have imported used Chinese equipment earlier for their plants.
