Green Stocks May 21: NTPC Green Stock Prices Up Amid Results
After the sharp rise we saw yesterday, the markets were a lot more cautious today. Thus, despite a modest rise in the indices, most green energy stocks trailed in terms of gains, or even gave up some gains made yesterday. There is a clear flight to size as we can see now, with one of the largest developers attracting stronger interest, with Waaree Renewable Technologies jumping the most today. With just one more trading day left in the week, we would be very surprised to see a significant shift in the mood this week.
The disaster that has been Gensol is a blow to the whole sector in some ways, and it remains to be seen how the standards awarded to the firm in the past few months fare now, especially some of the key BESS tenders. Either way, authorities will need to be proactive on this issue.
