ib vogt Sells 110 MWp Pato Solar Power Project to NPV ESG

International solar developer ib vogt has successfully completed the sale of the 110 MWp Pato solar photovoltaic (PV) project to NextPower V ESG (NPV ESG), a private solar + infrastructure strategy managed by NextEnergy Capital.

Located in Segovia, the Pato solar farm generates around 215 GWh of clean electricity annually, enough to power more than 55,000 households. It is estimated to prevent 47,450 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year, the equivalent of avoiding the use of 15,000 tonnes of oil.

The project also benefits from a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with a leading industrial technology firm, providing both predictable cash flow for investors and secure energy delivery for the offtaker.

Designed for Efficiency and Future Readiness

The plant is equipped with bifacial solar panels mounted on single-axis trackers. The trackers optimise energy generation. Plans are also underway to hybridise the project with co-located battery energy storage systems (BESS) to enhance grid stability and capture additional revenue streams in the near future.

“We’re proud to celebrate the sale of the Pato project to our partners at NPV ESG,” said Andreas Schell, CEO of ib vogt. “This is not just a business milestone—it delivers long-term environmental and economic benefits to local communities, enhances national energy resilience, and aligns with sustainability goals. These are the kinds of projects that deliver real-world value while meeting investor expectations.”

Antonio Salvati, Managing Director at NextEnergy Capital and Head of NPV ESG, added, “This transaction brings NPV ESG’s operational capacity to 226 MWp, further strengthening our position in Europe’s renewable sector. We plan to double our solar capacity in Europe over the next year, with continued investment in the Iberian market through our offices in Madrid and Seville.”

Part of a Larger Green Vision

The Pato solar project is part of a broader 513 MWp solar cluster developed by ib vogt in Segovia to support Spain’s goal of achieving 100 percent renewable electricity, 97 percent of the total energy mix by 2050.

ib vogt will continue to provide operations, maintenance, and asset management services for the Pato solar farm, ensuring long-term performance and value. The transaction was advised by Augusta & Co. Ltd as exclusive financial advisor. Legal counsel was provided by Herbert Smith Freehills Spain LLP for ib vogt and Watson Farley Williams for NextEnergy Capital.
