India’s leading electric two-wheeler seller Hero Electric has announced that the company has entered into a partnership with electric vehicle charging platform ElectricPe to strengthen the charging network and propel EV adoption across India.

As per the official statement, Hero Electric EV customers will be able to access the charging network of ElectricPe which has already committed to set up one lakh charging facilities by the end of 2022.

Hero Electric says that the charging point network will be created in the residential complexes, offices, malls, and related establishments. This is expected to mitigate the range anxiety issue among consumers.

Hero Electric also held that the collaboration with ElectricPe is aimed at strengthening the existing charging infrastructure to help meet the demand of 40,00,000 charging stations by 2026. Hero Electric CEO, Sohinder Gill, says, “This association will provide a seamless charging and EV riding experience to customers by easing the accessibility through ElectricPe’s charging points that are getting installed on a large scale across the country.”

He further adds, “With our vision and commitment to advancing the growth of EVs, we are working rigorously to scale up the charging infrastructure. We are confident that the partnership will aid in sustaining the push towards EVs and facilitate a smooth transition towards clean and green mobility solutions.”

As per the data released by FADA, Hero Electric dominates the electric two wheeler segment in India. The company sold 28% of the electric vehicles in the Indian market which makes 65,303 units in absolute numbers.

Avinash Sharma, Co-Founder and CEO, ElectricPe, mentions, “Our goal from day one has been to help make the transition to electric mobility smooth by making it inclusive and convenient for consumers pan-India for their varied commuting activities.”

Recently, ElectricPe had also collaborated with NoBroker to create 100,000 electric vehicles’ charging infrastructure in residential neighborhoods. ElectricPe is an EV charging and demand generation software where EV drivers can locate charging stations and also track real-time usage of the services.
