Haryana Opens PM-KUSUM State Portal For Beneficiaries Haryana Opens Up PM-KUSUM Portal For Solar Pump Applicants

The Haryana New and Renewable Energy Department has opened its PM-KUSUM State Portal to collect beneficiary shares and allow the solar water pump applicants to select vendors. The portal allowed these services from August 18 and will end it on August 22.

Opening the PM-KUSUM State Portal is a step in implementing the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Uthan Mahabhiyaan (PM KUSUM) scheme in Haryana. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to farmers to install solar pumps under Component B of the scheme.

The portal will be open for the six categories of solar pumps: 3 HP (Horsepower), 7.5 HP and 10 HP. The portal will also be open for applicants who have already submitted their choice for the type and capacity of the solar water pump. The department will issue detailed information and instructions for the farmers to deposit applicable beneficiary shares and select vendors of choice.

To meet the irrigation requirements of farmers of the State and to reduce the input cost of harvesting by replacing existing diesel pump sets, the Department of New & Renewable Energy is providing solar pumps of 3 HP to 10 HP capacity in the State with a total 75 % subsidy (30 % Central Financial Assistance under the PM-KUSUM & 45 % from the State). These pumps will not only provide a clean source of power for emerging agriculture pumps but also reduce the input cost of farming and thereby help increase farmers’ income.

PM-KUSUM scheme of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is designed to enhance the farmers’ income from that part of the land, which is barren/fallow and also to reduce the cost of irrigation.

The scheme is expected to benefit over 100,000 farmers in Haryana. It is expected to help reduce the use of diesel and electricity in agriculture and improve farmers’ income.
