GUVNL Tender For Procurement Of 500 MW Wind Power GUVNL Looks to Procure 500 MW Hybrid Renewable Energy with 500 MW

Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) has issued tender inviting bids to procure green power from 500 MW of grid-connected wind projects (Phase V) with a greenshoe option of an additional capacity of up to 500 MW.

GUVNL has kept the last day of bid submission on April 11, 2023 and the bids will be opened on April 17, 2023.

As far as the bid processing fee is concerned, bidders are required to pay Rs 300,000 with 18% GST.

The Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) has been kept by GUVNL tender at Rs 10 lakhs in the form of Bank Guarantee. The successful bidder needs to furnish Rs 20 lakhs for every megawatt at the time of signing the power purchase agreement (PPA).

GUVNL may enter into PPA with successful bidders for a period of 25 years from the scheduled commercial operation date of the project or date of full commissioning of the project, whichever is earlier.

The eligible projects for GUVNL tender include the projects under construction, projects which are not yet commissioned, and projects already commissioned but do not have any long-term PPA with any agency and selling power on short-term or merchant plant basis will, however, be considered, in case these projects are not already accepted under any other Central or State Schemes and do not have any obligations towards existing buyers.

In order to ensure quality Wind Power Technology installations, the type certified wind turbine models listed in Revised List of Models and Manufacturers (RLMM) of Wind Turbines prepared by MNRE will only be allowed by GUVNL.

GUVNL has kept the minimum bid capacity at 25 MW for intrastate projects. For interstate projects, the minimum capacity has been kept at 50-MW.

Bidders need to do a pre-bid tie-up with not less than three manufacturers for the project’s design, engineering, supply, procurement, construction, and operation & maintenance.

The Projects shall be located at the locations chosen by the Bidders anywhere in India at its own discretion of cost, risk and responsibility.

GUVNL tender held that the project should be designed for interconnection with the state transmission utility or the central transmission utility substation through a dedicated transmission line for the delivery of energy at the Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation periphery.

The successful bidder will be responsible for getting grid connectivity.

In the latest auction held in January for the power supply of 300-MW grid connected wind energy projects, Juniper Green Energy, WYN Renewables, EDF Renewables, ACME Pokharan Solar and Solarcraft Power India were declared winners by GUVNL.
