Gujarat: SECI Issues EPC Tender for Five 160 MVA Transformers, Backing 700 MW Solar Project
The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued an EPC tender for the commissioning of five units of 160 MVA, 220/33–33 kV power transformers at RadhaNesda in Gujarat. The power supplied from the transformers under this tender will be utilised for a 700 MW (AC) ground-mounted solar power plant to be established at Radhanesda, Gujarat.
The project is located in the village Radhanesda, Taluka Vav, District Banaskantha, Gujarat, and forms part of the CPSU scheme implementation. SECI has opened bids for this project until January 23, 2026.
The tender has set the completion timeline of 16 months for setting up the project with the Balance of
The System (BoS) contractor is responsible for developing the storage of the consignment at the site. Additionally, the bidder is required to have a minimum annual Transformer manufacturing capacity of at least five times the bid quantity, i.e., (5*160*5) = 4000 MVA.
Scope of Work
SECI's latest EPC tender requires the power transformers to meet specific specifications, including rating, configuration, dimensions, and foundation design, as per the “Standard Technical Specifications of Transformer(s) for Solar Park Pooling Stations” issued by the CEA. The supplier must ensure that the goods and related services comply with the technical specifications and all other provisions of the contract.
This tender aligns with the recent trend of providing last-mile connectivity to consumers by setting up transmission lines. For instance, Bihar recently established a 132 kV transmission line and installed a 100 MVA, 33/132 kV transformer at the Kajra Solar Power Plant in Lakhisarai district. The new transmission line was constructed for power evacuation from the Kajra Solar Power Plant from the Grid Sub-station Haveli Kharagpur to the Grid Sub-station Lakhisarai. Additionally, the 100 MW, 33/132 kV transformer installed at the Kajra Solar Power Plant has also been energized.
