GreenZo Energy, Inducts Rajkumar Agarwal as Senior VP To Handle Nepal Project

GreenZo Energy, the New-Delhi based renewable energy consultant, has inducted Rajkumar Agarwal as Senior Vice President for Planning & Development of Projects. He will report to the Chairman and Founder of GreenZo Energy, Sandeep Agarwal.

Rajkumar Agarwal worked as the Assistant General Manager (AGM) for NTPC, before joining GreenZo Energy. His background includes more than 38 years of project management, planning, and execution expertise.

The objective of GreenZo Energy to enter the green hydrogen market has been intensified. In addition to producing 250-MW electrolysers in India, the business intends to provide installation and turnkey services for producing green hydrogen and green ammonia from its products. Additionally, it has a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nepalese hydroelectric power producer API Power.

The renewable energy firm must build 50 MW green hydrogen and green ammonia plants across Nepal within three years of receiving a USD 156 million investment for the project. The necessity to launch these two projects, according to Sandeep Agarwal, prompted the appointment of Rajkumar Agarwal as Senior Vice President.

The Green Hydrogen rush is picking up pace in India with firms across the board announcing plans to invest, or starting to invest with the country announcing a target of 5 million tonnes production by 2030. Besides that target, under the National Hydrogen Mission, multiple steps including laying down a Hydrogen Purchase Obligation (HPO) for firms in energy intensive sectors could be in the works to create an initial market for producers, as existing green hydrogen costs remain unviable on a stand alone basis.
