Green Stocks May 12- Green Stocks Outpace Euphoric Markets

As markets set off on a relief rally that lifted almost all stocks, green stocks rose too, and in almost every case, rose more than the markets did. With the notable exception of Shakti Pumps, which remained under pressure and actually went down after it’s fourth quarter results and final FY 25 numbers.

It is remarkable that the stock corrected, considering he fact that it delivered on its guidance with a pretty strong set of numbers. The only reason one can imagine for the correction is perhaps a realisation that FY26 will be a time for much more moderate growth, after the smashing numbers in FY 2025.

Outside of this aberration, it was a day to remember for punters, as 5% and above seemed to be the new normal. KPI Green, perhaps one of the most beaten-down green stocks in our pack, led with the highest gain of 10%, but keep in mind that this is but a small part of the journey the stock has to climb to reclaim the points it has lost over the past few months. The firm is also in ljne to declare results soon, so that should be interesting as well.

It is broadly the same story across the rest of the pack as well, where, despite gains, most stocks are still smarting from the valuation losses they have suffered in the past few months. But a return of momentum, if it does sustain, could make a huge impact as most green stocks today have low debt, strong growth and order books to provide a strong tailwind yet again to their stock prices.

Will the market respond to the script? Time will tell.
