Ahmedabad-based solar project firm Gensol Group today announced the appointment of Ravindra Goyal as the Group Chief Procurement Officer. Goyal will head the group’s Supply Chain Management (SCM), encompassing all entities in the clean energy and electric mobility domains. He will work closely with the entity-level leadership team to build capability for bulk & efficient procurement for timely completion of projects with optimized cost and requisite quality, overall process development and digitalization of SCM activities.

With over 29 years of extensive experience in various industries, including solar PV module manufacturing, solar and wind EPC projects, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and green hydrogen & ammonia. Goyal brings a wealth of knowledge and acumen to his new position. His multifaceted career has been marked by remarkable achievements, particularly in Supply Chain Management, Commercial Operations, and Cost Optimisation. He has also been instrumental in timely execution of large-scale Solar projects for esteemed clients such as NTPC, SECI, APGenco, GIPCL, WBPDCL, Maruti, and Jindal Steel and Power, overseeing 3,700 MWp Solar projects worth of Rs 17,000 crores, read the press release by Gensol company.

In other news, Gensol Engineering Ltd was awarded Rs 150 crore contract by Sarda Energy & Minerals Ltd (SEML) for the development of a 50-MW DC solar power plant in the state of Chhattisgarh. Gensol Engineering also raised a significant Rs 900 crore (Rs 9 billion) equity capital through warrants convertible into equity shares on a preferential basis. The company also said that the major milestone came at a juncture when Gensol is on a growth trajectory and is leading the green energy and clean mobility revolution.
