First roof top solar energy unit setup by a local Sankar Rao inaugurated at Babametta, Andhra Pradesh

Collector M.M. Nayak on Sunday inaugurated first rooftop solar energy unit set up by a local Sankar Ral at Babametta, Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh.He congratulated Rao for his initiative and asked people to generate solar power by setting up roof top solar panels at 50 per cent government subsidy for domestic use and also sell the surplus energy at Rs. 5.48 per unit to EPDCL.

Nayak also informed that all government offices and civic bodies will soon setup solar energy units to meet their power requirement.

Speaking at the occasion Prasadula Ramakrishna, Municipal chairperson said “solar power plant in an extent of five acres at a cost of Rs. 5 crore was being established to meet the energy demand of the municipality. “
