This unique project, known as the Yarmouk University Project-Phase 2, was erected in 2021 and has a 3.6 MWP capacity powered by 48 FIMER PVS-50/60-TL and 14 TRIO-20.0/27.6-TL, which allows 350 MT of CO2 emissions to be saved. Since 1976, Yarmouk University has served as a comprehensive, publicly funded institution of higher learning in northern Jordan, close to the Irbid city core.

The system is made up of 26 places across the campus with a total capacity of 3.59 MWp, 19 Energy meters spread on the roofs of buildings, hangars, car parks, and canopies, and connected to the low voltage system (to produce 6 GWh per year for the first year).

The plant also received the Commercial Operation Date (COD) certificate in 2021.

Yarmouk University With 3.59 MW solar project

Project Details:

  • Location: Irbid, Jordan.
  • Total capacity: 3591.92 KWp.
  • Total Ac Power: 2791.2 KWac
  • Low voltage connected (0.400KV).
  • Net-Metering basis.
  • Scope: EPC contract.

FIMER was able to launch a project of this size in Jordan by supplying its solar technologies through a partnership with Gazania Solar Systems, a system integration business that offers turnkey solutions for industrial, commercial, and utility-scale electricity production. According to both companies, this partnership has opened the door for other pertinent projects of a similar nature.

The cloud-connected three-phase string solution from FIMER, the PVS-50/60-TL, enables big, inexpensive decentralized solar systems for both industrial and utility applications.

With three separate MPPTs and power ratings up to 60 kW, this family of PVS string inverters was created to maximize ROI in big systems while preserving all the benefits of a decentralized arrangement for both rooftop and ground-mounted installations.

The product design includes the power module and wire box wrapped in a single small chassis, saving installation resources and costs thanks to technological decisions made to optimize installation times and costs. Each inverter has the potential to link to the Aurora Vision cloud platform, which will protect investments and long-term profitability.
