EPDCL with NEDCAP to bring direct subsidy for rooftop solar soon

Eastern Power Distribution Company of AP Limited (EPDCL) with Non-Conventional Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NEDCAP) is reportedly planning to give consumers the benefit of subsidy of 50 per cent directly to promote rooftop solar.

EPDCL CMD M.M. Nayak speaking to The Hindu said modalities would be worked out with the NEDCAP Managing Director next week.

Nayak further added that banks must give loan to home-loan borrowers to set up the panels and go for net-metering and grid export. The bank loan would help home owners install solar panels that would be in the range of Rs.75, 000 for KWe.
