Enphase Energy Expands Manufacturing Capacity with Flex in Romania

California-headquartered Enphase Energy, an energy technology company and supplier of microinverter-based solar and battery systems, has announced the expansion of its nearly 15-year relationship with global diversified manufacturer Flex®.

Starting in the first quarter of 2023, Flex’s factory in Timisoara, Romania, will begin manufacturing Enphase® microinverters for the European market, addressing the region’s rapid growth and demand for residential solar due to rising energy prices and the increased adoption of electric vehicles (EV) and heat pump technology.

The new manufacturing site in Romania enables Enphase Energy to increase global capacity and improve delivery times to its customers in Europe, said the company. More clean energy technology like solar and batteries across the continent is expected  to provide greater energy security for consumers as the dependence on fossil fuels continues to decline.

Enphase Energy has a manufacturing as well as software development presence in India, with almost 1500 employees in total. “We are pretty active in India and currently have around 300+ installers selling our solutions and installing our products. Over 50 of them are Enphase installer network partners, who are selected and trained by us. These installers are categorized across tiers of qualification, basis the number of Enphase solution projects they undertake,” Sunil Thamaran, VP and MD, Enphase Energy, told Saur Energy last month.
