Enfinity Global Inc., a leading U.S.-based renewable energy developer, has sold a 49% minority stake in two large-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) projects totaling 380 MW to Japan’s Daiwa Energy & Infrastructure Ltd. (DEI), a unit of the Daiwa Securities Group.

Enfinity will retain a 51% controlling interest and continue to lead the development, construction, and long-term management of both projects.

The first project, located in the Houston zone of Texas’ ERCOT grid, is a 250 MW BESS with a two-hour duration and 500 MWh of capacity. The second, in Italy’s Veneto region, comprises a 130 MW BESS with a four-hour duration and 520 MWh capacity. Both facilities are expected to be operational by 2027.

The partnership is aimed at supporting grid resilience and meeting growing electricity demands from data centers, artificial intelligence, and industrial electrification in both the United States and Europe.

“We are honored to partner with Daiwa Energy & Infrastructure, one of Japan’s leading financial institutions, to bring new investments to the USA and Italy,” said Carlos Domenech, CEO of Enfinity Global. “This is a win-win outcome that strengthens grid capabilities and brings cross-border capital to clean energy infrastructure.”

Jun Hayakawa, Deputy President of DEI, said the partnership marks a strategic expansion of Daiwa’s global clean energy footprint. “With rising demand for energy storage and the expansion of renewables, this collaboration with Enfinity Global is a significant step in our international growth.”

Ricardo Diaz, Global Head of Capital at Enfinity Global, said the deal aligns with the company’s strategy of attracting long-term capital partners to scale operations and optimize investor returns.

Enfinity Global, one of the fastest-growing independent power producers, holds a diversified 35.5 GW global pipeline—comprising 20.9 GW of solar and wind projects and 14.6 GW of BESS. The company currently operates 1.1 GW of renewable assets, with another 1.2 GW under construction.

Legal counsel for Enfinity included Winston & Strawn and DLA Piper. DEI was advised by Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe, Ensight Energy Consulting, and Ernst & Young.
