Dept of Science & Technology, Chandigarh Issues Tender for 4000kwp Canal Top Power Plant Chandigarh Admin Pegs BOT Model for Installation of Free of Cost Rooftop Solar at 22.5 Years

The Department of Science and Technology has issued a tender for the design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning including warranty operation and maintenance for 10 years for a 4000kwp canal top solar photovoltaic power plant. The plant will be set up in Chandigarh.

The bid submission start date is 21-02-2023 at 6:00 PM. The last date for submission of bids is 06-03-2023 at 5:00 PM. Bids open on 07-03-2023 at 12:30 PM.

The last date for document collection is 06-03-2023. The pre-bid meeting is 20-02-2023.

The estimated cost is INR 25.61 Cr. The EMD is 51.22 lacs. The document fee is Rs 118 thousand.

CREST focus on solar energy 

The Chandigarh Renewable Energy and Science & Technology (CREST) is on a mission to augment solar energy in the UT. In December 2022, CREST announced its intention to install rooftop solar power stations at 7 locations of Chandigarh. These are to have an aggregate capacity of 2250 kWp. It has set up a target of installing 75 MWp worth of solar capacity by August 15 of this year.

Canal top plants in Chandigarh 
Chandigarh is undertaking a number of unique solar power projects that includes 2 MWp canal-top solar power plant at N-Choe in Sector-52, 2 MWp canal-top solar power plant at Patiala Ki Rao and a 500 kWp floating solar power plant at Dhanas Lake.
The UT has been judged best among the Union Territories by Association of Renewable Energy Agencies of States (AREAS) with regards to solar power installation in India.
