Gujarat-based solar module manufacturing company Credence Solar today claimed it received the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification for its solar panels. The company said that with this certification, Credence Solar became the first Indian solar module manufacturer to get a BIS certification for a capacity of up to 670 MW.

Credence Solar Panels has proudly secured the prestigious BIS certification for its solar panels, setting a new benchmark for innovation and excellence. Notably, Credence Solar Panels has become the first Indian manufacturer to attain BIS certification for panels with an incredible capacity of up to 670W,” a media statement from the company said.

This accomplishment, the firm said, was their commitment to pushing the boundaries of solar technology and delivering cutting-edge solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers. “The journey towards this achievement has been driven by the collective dedication, passion, and expertise of our team, who have continuously strived for excellence in every aspect of our operations,” it said.  

BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification is a coveted recognition that signifies a product’s adherence to the stringent quality and safety standards established by the Government of India. This certification is a testament to our solar panels’ quality, reliability, and performance, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly energy solutions. 

The company said its product will soon be listed in the Approved List of Module Manufacturers (ALMM). “This will be listed soon in ALMM. This will be the highest capacity of PV modules in the list of Approved List Of Module Manufacturers by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE),” the statement said.  

As per the details of the BIS certification, Credence received the certification for its Crystalline Silicon Terrestrial PV modules (Silicon wafer-based). The letter was issued on September 1, 2023.
