The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has installed 88.2 kWp (kilowatts peak power) solar plant on the rooftop of its office in Belapur.

The 88.2 kWp solar plant executed by Pune-based Company CleanMax Solar spreads across 880 sq m and has been integrated with the conventional grid.  The solar plant is said to generate 1.2 lakhs kWh annually.

Speaking to TOIKamal Preet Singh Special, director general, CPWD said, “We are pleased to be associated with the project. We believe renewable energy is the way to the future and this is the first step towards building a sustainable energy source.”
