The project provides solar power to Senior Aerospace under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), signed between Senior Aerospace (Thailand) Ltd., a subsidiary of Senior plc – an international manufacturer of high-technology components and systems for the principal original equipment manufacturers in the worldwide aerospace, defence, land vehicle and power; energy markets, and Cleantech Solar, a provider of renewable energy solutions to corporations in Southeast Asia and India.

The solar power plant’s 1,296 PV modules are expected to generate over 18 GWh of clean electricity during the lifetime of the project, which will avoid over 10 kilotonnes of CO 2 emissions, thereby helping the manufacturer to reduce energy costs and contribute to a sustainable environment. Cleantech will now maintain and operate the PV system during the term of the agreement.

This commissioning follows the partnership between Cleantech Solar and UPECA Aerotech Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia, also a subsidiary of Senior Aerospace PLC, where Cleantech Solar is maintaining and operating a 615.6 kW rooftop solar power plant at UPECA Aerotech’s factory in Subang, which manufactures high-precision engineered components serving the aerospace and energy sectors.

Both Thailand and Malaysia projects expect to generate over 33 GWh over their lifetime and avoid over 19 kilotonnes of CO2.

Simon Geoffrey Shale, CEO at Senior Aerospace (Thailand) Ltd., said, “Senior Aerospace (Thailand) Ltd. is very happy to have engaged and partnered with Cleantech Solar in one of many of our steps in pursuing ongoing emissions reduction targets.”

Raju Shukla, Founder and CEO of Cleantech Solar, said: “Cleantech solar is delighted to partner with Senior PLC once again, this time to power their manufacturing facility in Thailand. We have witnessed rising uptake of green energy in the region, as industry leaders increasingly embrace solar energy as a clean, reliable and cost-efficient option to power their operations, thereby setting a benchmark for responsible business practices. Congratulations to both the Senior Aerospace (Thailand) and Cleantech Solar teams on the successful launch of the system.”
