Renewable energy firm in the C&I (commercial and industrial) sector, CleanMax has commissioned a 400 MW solar-wind hybrid project in Gujarat. The project, which began last year, has completed the commissioning of the project in a period of 14 months.

In the hybrid project, wind claims a slightly higher share as against solar, informs the firm. The power generated from the said project will be supplied to 50 to 70 clients of CleanMax.

CleanMax has been expanding its penetration in Gujarat and currently boasts 500 MW capacity in the state.

In February, JK Cement joined hands with CleanMax Enviro Energy Solutions for a 6.42 MW wind-solar generation capacity in Jagalur, Karnataka. Later, it entered into an agreement of 5.5 MW capacity with speciality glass maker Schott, under which, the German firm will purchase energy from CleanMax’s wind-solar hybrid project in Babra, Gujarat.

Recently, the Mumbai-based firm raised $360M from Brookfield. The company plans to boost its energy capacity beyond 5 GW. CleanMax has been backed by marquee institutional investors like Augment Infrastructure, a US-based fund manager, Danish Investment Fund (IFU) and UK Climate Investments (UKCI), a joint venture between the Green Investment Group and the UK Government’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
