Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited’s (RUVNL’s) tender for the development of  1200 MW of solar with storage projects has declared BluPine Energy and ACME as winners. While BluPine bagged a quantity of 100 MW at INR 6.68/Kwh, ACME won 500 MW out of the quoted 600 MW at INR 6.69/kWh. The auction was held in March, 2023 for 600 MW. There is no news yet about the remaining capacity.

The tariffs at which the project have been bagged are higher owing to the storage feature.

The developer will need to supply power daily up to 3 MWh per 1 MW of the designated capacity. This is especially true during peak hours. The developer will also look into inter-state transmission system connection. The PPA signed by the developers will be for a period of 25 years.

The developer will need to maintain an energy supply with an annual output equivalent to a capacity utilisation factor (CUF) ranging from 90 per cent and 120 per cent of the declared CUF. At the same time, solar modules should have a peak output wattage warranty with minimum 90 per cent after 10 years and 80 per cent after 25 years.

RUVNL recently declared the results for its 1 GW tender (floated in January 2023) of power from state transmission utility (STU)-connected solar power projects in the state. Mahindra Susten, Sunfree Energy (SAEL), Solarcraft Power India (Blupine Energy), Jakson, Shiva Corporation, Avaada Energy, and SJVN are the winners under competitive bidding.
