BHEL Tenders for Insurance of two Floating Solar Plants

BHEL has issued a tender for the Marine-Cum-Storage-Cum-Erection (MSE) Insurance of two floating solar plants it is currently developing for NTPC.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has issued a tender for the Marine-Cum-Storage-Cum-Erection (MSE) Insurance of two floating solar plants it is currently developing in Simhadri, Andhra Pradesh and Kayamkulam, Kerala for NTPC.

At Simahdri, BHEL is setting up a 25 MW floating solar plant for NTPC, while in Kayamkulam the project size is 22 MW.

The last date for bid submission is July 31, 2020, and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same date. The date and time of opening of the price bids will be informed to the technically cleared bidders later.

The tenders have been advised to acquaint themselves with both the project sites, before submitting any bids for the tender.

As per the tender, materials will be dispatched to the project site beginning this month, and erection work are scheduled to begin in September. The scheduled date of commissioning is expected 10 months from the date of commencement of the policy.

In May, BHEL had tendered for the balance of systems (BOS) works for 22 MW floating solar plant for NTPC project in Kerala. The scope of work included the erection and commissioning works for BOS for the 22 MW floating solar photovoltaic (PV) grid-connected power plant for NTPC at Rajiv Gandhi Combined Cycle Power project Kayamkulam in Kerala.

In April, the firm had tendered for the BOS works (Package-2) for the 100 MW (AC) floating solar PV grid-connected power plant (excluding the installation of floating SPV module array with SCB, ESE LA’s and associated earthing) for NTPC at the Ramagundam Thermal Power plant, Telangana. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 17.55 crore. The contractor will be responsible for the maintenance of works during the period of commissioning until the various items are taken over, and for a further period of six months, from the date of taking over.
