BHEL Invites Bids for Design in Development of 300 MW Floating Solar Power Project

BHEL SBD Bangalore has issued a tender for the design, supply and assembly of floating system and associated aAnchoring and mooring for development of 300 MW AC capacity floating solar power project at Rengali Reservoir at Angul District in the state of Odisha.

The last date for bid submission is September 4, 2023 at 2 PM. The bid opens on September 4, 2023 at 2.30 PM.

Odisha has been gaining momentum for solar projects, especially with reference to floating solar and pumped storage. Hydropower developer NHPC Ltd, has entered into an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Grid Corporation of Odisha (GRIDCO). The agreement will pave the way for the development of pumped storage and renewable energy projects in Odisha. As per the agreement, pumped storage projects of a minimum of 2 GW and renewable energy projects that shall entail ground-mounted or floating solar of at least 1 GW will be established in Odisha.

Earlier, BHEL issued a tender for the construction of chain link fencing works, gates and other miscellaneous works for 100 MW plus 100 MW SPV power plant for GSECL at Raghanesda ph- 1 and 2, Gujarat.
