Avis India has announced that it has formed a partnership with quikk India on February 17, 2019, to offer corporate electric mobility services which will include an EV fleet and access to robust charging infrastructure.

As the company claims, under the partnership, Avis India and quikk India have developed an innovative, integrated AI-based model that combines transportation services along with access to robust charging infrastructure, at costs broadly comparable with those of current ICE vehicles.

The association is expected to transform the EV space even further, with developments such as better battery performances and reduced costs of EVs likely over the next 12-18 months, claims Avis India.

Commenting on this, Sunil Gupta, MD & CEO of AVIS India, said, “we are providing new-age and intelligent electric mobility solutions aimed at employee transportation and chauffeur-driven services in India.”

The service will be first rolled out in the Delhi-NCR area, followed by other metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chennai.

In January, Mahindra Electric, part of the USD 20.7 billion Mahindra Group and Lithium Urban Technologies, India’s largest zero-emission service for employee transportation, have announced that their partnership has crossed the significant milestone of 1,000 Mahindra electric vehicles in the Lithium fleet.

Having clocked 100 million ekms, with over 500 Mahindra EVs running more than 1 lakh ekms, this partnership is set to transform employee transportation solutions in India and drive the adoption of electric mobility in the country. In fact over 75 Mahindra EVs have driven over 2 lakh ekms, a significant achievement in an otherwise nascent EV industry.

In November 2019, with an aim to further increase its contributions towards clean and green technology initiatives, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (Tata Power-DDL) had joined hands with Zoomcar, a Bangalore-headquartered self-drive car rental company. The move will help in scaling up of the distribution company’s operations & maintenance (O&M) activities in North Delhi on electric vehicles (EVs) fleet.
